project 01
The goal of project 01 was to develop a superimposition and ideal for two given typologies. One being a storybook home and the other being a motel located in L.A. Two examples of each typology were given and the third was chosen based on the study of each type.

project 02
Project 02 involves the superimposition of the two typologies studied in project 01: the storybook home and the motel. The two are superimposed by points of main entry to establish frontality specifically on the two main facades facing the street. Site context is emphasized through the engagement of the city grid on the existing superimposition.
project 03
Project 03 continues the explorations of project 02 through materiality, anomalies, and programming. The projection of motel elevations onto the massing of the storybook home creates a play in materiality through thickened facades, painted doors, and painted windows vs. functioning ones. Essentially, where the storybook frontality exists, the motel frontality exists as well. Programming merges both typologies and establishes multi-functional spaces.
